Washing Cows

Emma and I finally attempted to wash Tina, our tamest heifer, without Chris being home with us. We went last night to pick up some much needed equipment (check out my Sullivan's aluminum cadillac show chute, Kim and Scott) from my friend, Janet Schoebein. Her daughter isn't showing this summer so they let us borrow whatever we needed! I also found out that commercial heifers do not have to be groomed at our county fair. Yea for me!!!! And yea for Chris because he doesn't have to spend money on grooming supplies! Here are some pictures of Emma washing and blowing out Tina. Enjoy and thanks for checking in!

Even though you are only a few miles away, it's fun to see what the girls are doing. Did you show cattle in your first year of 4-H? Emma is doing very well with Tina. Have a good summer and enjoy those girls. Glad to have another blog to keep track of the Rankin girls.

Connie,

Thanks for checking in! It is really exciting to get comments from different people. I didn't show my first year, probably not until I was in high school, did I start showing steers and heifers. It is a lot of work, but it is very satisfying work as it teaches the girls so much!

Wow! Great job, Emma! You're doing so good with Tina! I can't wait for more pictures!
Yes, Karen, I see your Cadillac Sullivan's Chute! I am jealous, I'll admit! Yay for not having to groom. Grooming in the summer is never any fun anyway since they don't really have much hair.
I'm proud of you guys! It is fun when you look at the big picture and not necessarily the day-to-day work!

Love ya,
Kim
